Work-in-progress Wednesday - #15

I have been a very bad crafter, I cannot seem to keep focused on any one project as of late!  This means that nothing is getting done!

I've been working on two sweaters, a scrap pillow, a shawl, some handspun, and a mystery sewing project (still in it's infancy).  That is just too much for one busy graduate student to handle!

Now I am going to impose absolute project focus until at least one of them is finished.

First I have a project regular readers will recognize, it is like an old snuggly friend.  My self-designed sweater has the main body and one sleeve complete, the novelty of working with my favorite alpaca/wool blend has certainly not worn off yet.

Next I have my latest spinning project, which is so much fun already!  This summer I went to visit my dear friend Lisa (Wicked Artsy), during the visit we visited a few LYS and I purchased some gorgeous Romney wool.  It is an absolute dream to spin and I have a feeling that I'm going to adore the end product.

So, those are my two focus projects, now I need a bit of help from each of you...if you find out I have been working on any other projects than those pictured here, heckle me!  It's for my own good!

I hope that you are all having a great Wednesday and I hope that you also join in for WIP Wednesday with Tami's Amis.

  3. Ohh, that sweater looks so cozy! I'm right there with you with the scattered projects, though. Now that it's fall, I just want to knit all the things. :P That Romney wool is gorgeous! Can't wait to see what you make with it!

  5. I, too, think your sweater is wonderful, and the green tweed is a perfect color.

  6. I'm hoping to get some serious knitting in today. It's raining and we are suffering from jet lag. I haven't knit on any project in two weeks and I'm going through withdrawal! So like you I am working on one project tofeel some satisfaction!

  9. OOOOOooo. Sewing Project?!?! I'm looking forward to the big reveal. As for your WIPs, you are not giving yourself enough credit. You've gotten A TON one since last week, especially considering class is in session! Major props, girl. You're killing it.

  13. How exciting! You'll get that sweater done for this Fall! It does look like one big hug.
So do you just use that drop spindle to spin up wool? Is the wool different from spinning from roving?

  14. I have no room to talk, I am horrible at project monogamy ... but even just attempting to focus on one project should help your productivity! It usually does for me!

  15. Ooh I have a little bit of grey Romney that I'd like to try someday. Looking forward to hearing how it turns out!

  16. I just cannot wait to see the finished sweater! As always, I really admire you're spinning... I can't imagine spinning with just a spindle and getting such consistently gorgeous results. I'm a wheel spinner all the way and am so fascinated at the skill it takes to produce the yarn that you do!

  17. You're so funny! And I am in no position to heckle, because I always have LOTS of stuff going on at the same time (I call it yarn ADD). Can we help it that we need variety? No... But if it's important to you I'll do my best to support the focus!
Your sweater is coming along wonderfully! It looks cozy already. And as always your spinning is delightful. Look at all you've gotten done - PLUS school! Wow!

  18. Maybe you are actually an excellent crafter because you are making all the things all the time. Doing is much better than thinking about doing.

  19. Wow! All those projects and you are in Graduate School - don't be so hard on yourself - just have fun with your crafting because school is serious enough and I'm sure you are working hard to be successful there.
