Fiber Goals for 2013

Last year I really enjoyed the experience and challenge of working towards specific knitting and spinning goals.  I wasn't able to complete all of the goals on the list for 2012, but it was so enjoyable that I have decided to compose another list for 2013.

- Finish self-designed sweater

- Complete entrelac project

- Knit upcycled yarn

- Improve finishing skills

- Design e-spinner

- Learn to spin with supported spindle

- Learn to chain ply

- Process and spin raw mohair fiber

Planned projects:
- Gnarled Oak Cardigan
- Celestarium
- Arroyo
- Paloma Cap Sleeve Blouse
- Water and Stone
- Entrelac Hat
- Skew
- A Very Braidy Cowl
- Effortless Cardigan
- The Dude

I'm looking forward to this year and all of the yarn it will bring with it!  I wish you luck in your own resolutions and goals!

  1. An impressive list of goals, and I am confident that you will accomplish them in 2013.

  2. Great goals! What do you mean by design e-spinner?

  3. I can't wait to see you reach all these great goals. I can't wait to hear more about you designing and e-spinner.

  4. Goals are such a good idea! You don't forget about them like I do. :) Would you be interested in a Celestarium and/or Effortless Cardi mini knit-along with me this year?

  5. That is a pretty daunting list. Some of the things on there, I'm not even fully sure what they are (chain plying?). I am really excited to see how you progress through your list this year.

Also, that Celestarium shawl is one of the coolest ideas I've ever seen! I think it would look even cooler with a darker yarn than the one they chose, to look more like the night sky. I might even tackle that one!

  6. Great goals! And from what I have seen from you, they will be accomplished for sure.

  7. Thats a very impressive list. Water and Stone appeals to me as does the Gnarled Oak. I shall look forward to seeing each project as it emerges. Good luck

  8. Design an e-spinner- I'm in total awe! Looking forward to watching your year unfold.

  9. I love your list Ivy, I cannot wait to hear all about it and help you along the way :) It's going to be an awesome year.

  10. Hope it all goes well for you. I guess I sorta have a list, in my head. Nothing real exact, but in general...to try new things and improve my knitting skill. I'd like to take time out of my charity work to make something for myself; but always have a hard time justifying it.

Oh, and to try and blog and visit more often, not just on wipw, fof and the like.

  11. The Celestarium is on my list, too! Whaaaat, you're going to design an e-spinner?! That's amazing! Yowza! I'm so excited to see everything you accomplish this year, thank you so much for sharing your adventures!

  12. I'm in full support of knitting The Dude. If I thought I could pull it off, I'd knit myself one. And the Gnarled Oak cardi is the perfect sweater. I made one for my Oma, but I've wanted one for myself ever since.

I look forward to seeing your future posts!

  13. I so like your goals! These slated projects you have are wonderful. I checked out each one.

  14. Looks like fun goals the new year! Happy knitting and spinning!

  15. Well this looks very inspiring! I'm looking forward to seeing it all happen :)

  16. May I ask what an e-spinner is? The projects you chose are fantastic, sooo many cardigans! Good luck with your goals :)

  17. Good luck with everything, I'm sure it will be amazing! I love the effortless cardigan, definitely my style!

  18. I really like your planned projects list! good luck with your plans and your year! :)

  19. Those are great plans! I need to write a post about mine too. Time is just getting away from me.

I would love to hear from you!
