Keeping in mind that I have several projects filling up a corner of my room (don't ask...), I'm only posting about the two I've been working on lately (plus some spinning).
First we have my Beatnik, which I am really enjoying despite the fact that the cabling gets tiring after while. I'm finished with the back and a sleeve, and now working on the front and the other sleeve.
My pretty summer Textured Cardigan is working up quickly despite the fact that there is a huge error in one section of the pattern (what would I do without the wisdom of Ravelry at my disposal?).
I've also been having a lot of fun spinning the silk hanky, even though one strand of the silk often gets latched on to something and it is very difficult to get even strands. Look at how vibrant the colors are!
Anyways, I have many projects and so little time, but at least I have a lot of knitting and some really attractive (hopefully!) new sweaters to look forward to!
Hope you all are having a great Wednesday and I hope that you also join in with WIP Wednesday with Tami's Amis.
WOW. The beatnik is amazing! The cabling looks tedious, but so worth it because it's beautiful. And the green cardigan is pretty too. AND I told you the silk hankie would work out! The colors are amazing and I wish I could just feel how soft and smooth that yarn must be. Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteThat silk is such a gorgeous colour :) I need to get better at spinning before I try anything like that, but it's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spinning and your beatnik is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI am in LOVE with the beatnik pattern! That sweater is going to be amazing! It looks to me like you're doing a pretty good job keeping your strand even in your spinning! The yarn is going to be so pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh oh oh I am loving the Beatnik more and more each time I see it grown. Did I mention it was my birthday recently?? Just kidding...but the jumper looks absolutely gorgeous, I am totally doing that one too.
ReplyDeleteThe textured cardigan looks like something that would be prefect for my cursed Rowan Handknit - same colourway as yours. Anyway, I ramble - one can never have enough WIP's on the go
So not only do you have more than one WIP on your needles but BOTH are so impressive!! Most of us have one sweater going and some other small'ish project like a cowl. Love your handspun ... colors are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely projects. The cables are just wonderful on the beatnik. I hate when patterns have errors on them, you are right that Ravelry is awesome for notes and help that way. Lastly, I'm jealous of your spinning skills (something I still lack and have given up for the moment). Such pretty colours.
ReplyDeleteWow, that silk is fantastic. The colours are gorgeous! The sweaters look great, I love all the cables on the first one! :)
ReplyDeleteThose cables are irresistible!! I'm so impressed with these WIPs that I cannot imagine the others. How do find the mojo to work on a project vs. the others in the corner? :-)
ReplyDeleteThree projects at a time is a good idea. I can see how hard it would be to stick to it! Looks like you are creating beautiful things, as usual. Love that yarn you are spinning.
ReplyDeleteYour Beatnik is looking gorgeous, Pumpkin! And I'm totally impressed with your silk hanky spinning. Looking forward to following your progress! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, that silk is beautiful. I've never tried to spin with it before, but I can imagine it's a challenge. It just looks amazing though.
ReplyDeleteYour sweaters look to be coming along nicely as well. Believe me when I say, I know what you mean about having too many projects going at once. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal because we're often in different moods and different projects lend themselves to different moods!
Your sweater is coming along. Sweaters are still a bit of a mystery for me but I will probably attempt one this winter.
ReplyDeleteThe colours of that silk are great! I'm sure the tedious cabling on Beatnik will be worth it in the end.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you are making great progress with some really large projects.
ReplyDeleteI've been spinning some silk recently as well. (Not a hankie though) It's been more challenging getting an even strand than I thought it would be. At least silk is shiny and pretty.
Your Beatnik jumper is incredible, great colour too. Just love knitting cables
ReplyDeleteBeatnik is coming along nicely, great stitch definitions for the cables! Love the silk yarn, silk takes on colors so well.
ReplyDeleteLove the Beatnik!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have more work in progress than me!
ReplyDeleteYour Beatnik is looking lovely, I'm really impressed with how the cables are looking. It's looks like it's going to be a really warm and snuggly jumper when it's done!
