After the sweater failure (is it just me, or are a lot of people having various knitting failures lately?) I decided to spend more time on projects I feel confident about. Also, I apologize for the crazy pictures once again, apparently 7am is not the best time to take them.
I've been slowly progressing on my Tulip socks. I love the pattern and the yarn (Shibui Knits Sock), but for some reason I haven't had enough ambition to get them done.
I recently cast on a pattern I mentioned in a past post, the Textured Cardigan knit in Classic Elite Yarns Classic Silk. I love knitting with that yarn, it is super soft!
Also: Edit. If you like the stitch markers in this picture, Lisa has been making them with beautiful beads collected from all around Europe and all proceeds go to charity! Check out her page here.
I have also been slowly and sufferingly spinning up the rest of the merino fiber. I dislike working with it so much that I probably won't ply it. Would anyone be interested in having it when I'm done?
As always, WIP Wednesday hosted by Tami's Amis makes Wednesday more fun! I'm looking forward as always to getting to see what you are all working on.
For some odd reason I like plying, so if you really wanna send it my way I'll ply it for you, and maybe make a drawing or 2 in the process :)
ReplyDeleteThose tulip socks look very classy, but I understand why you are having issues knitting them, they look complicated. Hope you're having a great week.
Was wondering if the merino is difficult to draft? It does look beautiful though.
ReplyDeleteFor a minute I thought you were only working on green things this month. Thought maybe you were into matching colors to the holiday. LOL. Lovely all.
ReplyDeleteYour WIPs looks great! I really like that sock yarn- it looks self striping but it's really subtle.
ReplyDeleteThe purple you're spinning is beautiful! The socks look so comfy....anxious to see them progress. Play a game with yourself. Do like 5 rows before you pick up one of the other items you want to knit on. Pretty soon they'll be finished.
ReplyDeleteLove your wips! The colours are gorgeous. That purple is just incredible but I know what you mean about plying merino. ;)
ReplyDeleteI've heard of a lot of knitting problems in the blogosphere lately! I just ripped out a scarf, too . . .
ReplyDeleteThat purple is wonderful! So bright!
Lovely socks, they are just gorgeous. And so is your yarn, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great! I love the color of your socks.
ReplyDeleteThere does seem to be a lot of knitting issues in the blog world lately. I'm hoping it's because people are stretching their skills and trying some new stuff.
All your knitting looks great! Your tulip socks are lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove the socks!
ReplyDeleteAnd I wish I could spin - beautiful yarn.
I am completely smitten with those socks! You spinning looks gorgeous and that color-wow!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I am not the only one who struggles at the moment to complete things. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the look of the socks - that is a pattern I am probably going to try at some stage. The cardi looks gorgeous too and the colour id right up my alley.
ReplyDeleteI have never worked with Merino before but the colour of yours is stunning.
I had a near sweater disaster last week and someone actually commented that we all seem to be having issues lately, so i agree! Luckily i was able to save it, basically because it wasn't SO bad of an error. I really like the socks, keep going! Although I'm one to talk, i have these cabley flower socks that have been neglected on the needles for WAY too long...
ReplyDeleteThe merino looks beautiful, a shame it giving you fits. Love the socks. I have a project the I'm all eh about, too. Maybe there is something in the air.
ReplyDeleteThe purple yarn is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWowsers! That blue/purple yarn you're spinning looks stunning! Once again I need a jealous button.
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel any better, your Tulip socks are really stunning! Hope you finish them soon.
ReplyDeleteThe tulip socks are lovely. Thanks so much for mentioning the knit and crochet week in your last post-- I didn't know about it last year until it was too late and I felt so left out! This year I hope to participate.
ReplyDeleteRegarding that Vogue magazine by the ocean, I bought it to read on my weekend get-away. I've never tried knitting a Vogue pattern, but I do like to look.
Yum, love those greens! My favorite color. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the socks, even if you aren't feeling the sock love right now. I always find that knitting socks two at a time makes me feel like I'm not getting anywhere with them. They just grow too slowly!
ReplyDeleteoooh I hope your sock knitting motivation comes back soon, because those socks are lovely!
